I also really liked the Harbourmaster in Aberaeron which is also in a great spot near the sea front. Aberaeron is about a 15 minute drive but its a really pretty town and the restaurant is excellent, so its definitely worth a visit. There are various nice pubs in New Quay that do decent food. Places I have enjoyed include Hotel Penwig which overlooks the harbour, the Black Lion, and the Penrhiwllan Inn. If you want somewhere which is just a short walk away (300 metres - just carry on down the hill from the house and its on the corner) you have the Cambrian which I haven't tried yet, but it gets good reviews. There are various fish and chip bars down at the harbour. My favourite is the Lime Crab.
